CNN falling to the bottom of the cable news stations, according to this article, proves the public's tendency to watch "opinion-oriented shows" over news networks. I agree with this article, and believe that this is an indication of America's viewing habits. As we have talked about in class, many viewers want to receive their information from a source that they know will not be contracdictory to their beliefs- they want something from a station that has similar opinions as they do. CNN falling in ratings helps illustrate the truth behind what we've been talking about in class.

I agree that viewers definitely want a station that broadcasts along the same views as them. However, I personally love to hear/watch broadcasts that ARE contradictory to what I believe because this not only helps me to hear the view of others, but it also helps to re-enforce why I believe what I believe. You are absolutely right and the government should take note of this trend that is occurring so as not to enforce a fairness doctrine. How boring would that be?
